About CRCID Monitoring and Evaluation
An increased emphasis on the results achieved by Rotary programs and projects funded by CRCID has required an adjustment in the focus, approach and application of CRCID's monitoring and evaluation.
Traditionally, CRCID Monitoring and Evaluation has focused on assessing the inputs (human and financial resources) and implementation processes (activities). With the emphasis now on results it is being utilized as a tool to assess the contributions made by various factors to the anticipated outcome result(s) anticipated by conclusion of the program and/or project. The main objectives are to:
- Learn from experience;
- Make more informed decisions; and,
- Have greater accountability to stakeholders
Therefore, outcome focused Monitoring and Evaluation is the cornerstone of effective international development programming. It is an ongoing process that begins with the planning of the program/project and ends with the evaluation of the achieved outcome results according to the baseline expected result outcomes that were prepared during the planning process.
The program/project is monitored during its implementation to provide early indications of progress towards the achievement of the anticipated results. The evaluation is conducted at selective times culminating in the final evaluation completed at the completion of the program/project to report on the outcome results achieved.
