Literacy & Education

CRCID focuses on two major sectors of development, Health Concerns and Literacy & Education. Our projects are segregated into these three areas so that a focus can be strengthened, making club efforts the most effective.

    H.E.L.P. Honduras runs five seperate programs.

    The Ripple Effect

    The Ripple Effect program provides the schools, teachers, desks, books, and equipment basic to education.




    El Salvador Program

    The Rotary Club of Festival City Stratford D.6330

    The El Salvador Program will increase literacy rates by building a new school. The program will also provide training for families with skills to problem solve in nutrition, environment, and health. The program collaborates with the El Salvador government to reduce educational barriers, and to improve the access and participation in schools.


    Rural Community Development

    The Rural Community Development Program provides training in practical skills to enhance existing capacities in food production and processing and in vocational skills that will lead to self employment. The program also provides training in agricultural production, food processing, literacy, nutrition, and in job skills (to disabled and young adults). Young girls are also offered assistance in attending school.



    Canadian Rotary Centennial Afghanistan Challenge

    Canadian Rotarians are partnering to enhance the education of Afghan children by building and equiping a school in Afghanistan. The school will offer 4000 girls and boys an education.



    Distributed Learning Program
    Belize

    The Distributed Learning Program will improve student infrastructure by providing teacher training, hiring and wages. Technical training along with computers and internet will be supplied.
